DEMOCRACY IN ARGENTINA
Out of the discursive easy, Argentines costs us be democratic. We are Latinos and, as such, want to impose our idea, opinion or desire. And also the policy works.
Is there, there, there will be democracy in Argentina? Best said that we practice in daily life, institutions and / or organizations in the governance structures that coexist under different flags, one end of the country: is democracy? Or is-just-the only way we live native government altogether? And when I refer to institutions covered all to imagine: clubs, partnerships, private companies, family, church or corporate estates from different laya ...
If we look back and think of a generic concept of the word democracy, it seems that once there had been between us.
I think that neither the facts nor the sayings are democratic, the way you normally get to be practiced elsewhere in the world in which things are organized so as to find a "media" ruled from reconcile different ways of thinking (if this is real and possible, and certainly what is said that there places where decisions are made involving all, and high respect for majorities and minorities).
Yes I have seen, in movies, for example.
I am old and do not regret my memory
Let me cite as an example. As a kid, in the late forties, was attending a state nursery school in a provincial town. Before entering, we were put in a row and then having to stay quiet, orderly and in place pavement (we had five years) we entered the hall to the sound of a military march (Capibarí). Was this
offset somewhat by the familiar containment area, which could correct these excesses educational system? I think not: in the Latino family environments guiding principle about the relationship never expected or aspired to be democratic: adults "enabled" is devoted to govern the life of the rest of the family.
Many of the "values" supposedly "had to assimilate during my primary education was that of obedience, memory, order and cleanliness, neatness, well ... no one who had to about innovation or creativity. In the catechism were charged to obscure my knowledge with ideas to try to neutralize all that wild assumed my constitution (actually only human).
In the secondary (also state) you should never forget attending a suit and tie, I explained that those who really educated me were my parents, who claimed they sent me to school to educate.
In fact, all these organizations were preparing me for my entry into the "service" that was the place where I would train to kill enemies, always-of course-in defense against those who "attack us." And in the year ended of a profession to prolong and maintain such establishment, and the constitution of the family to contribute to the provision of new members to collaborate with the eternal cycle to maintain the status quo.
Are we in time to arrive at a democracy?
How to get to be legitimately democratic, with such a formation (or deformation) of his own conscience?
I call to memory hundreds of painful events experienced in this country actually touch him to witness to our generation, from the famous editorial by Mariano Grondona welcoming the Caudillo finally met with his people (sic)-Juan Carlos Ongania sent self-recognition God until the meeting of two Democrats and self-referential Alfonsin and Menem in the Olivos Pact. Not to mention the messengers of God ...
you never had democracy in Argentina?
occasion of the current harsh media war against the rulers (and not the first time we do), would be very interesting to walk around the historic role of the press on the national scene. And to name a few, remember the saga of "Criticism against the government of Yrigoyen, Timerman's publications sponsored by military coup or the action" functional "EVERYTHING journalistic entrepreneurship during the last dictatorship.
This is a country which, as in any other ideologies abound. The left gets in democracy but, as I read in a pamphlet in favor in the last election, actually agreed to do so to ensure that all power eventually goes to the workers, along with factories, capital and media. The right wants to become "hard" and that the rich do their business quiet. The self-proclaimed democrats who perceive themselves as "centrist" to live in peace at any price standardizing both the cardboard and closing an hour dancing clubs that consider decent logic.
I will never forget the great sheltered from democracy (de la Rua) explaining on national TV that he had declared a state of siege. Argentinos
: only if we tolerate ourselves
We are quite intolerant of thinking, habits and differences of others. We have a strong tendency to think that the other will be easy to leave them and finally achieve "being like" us.
always thought that the profound changes in the social fabric are only possible when given over time and generational change. Thousands of preconceptions that remained when I was a child (and I sounded absurd, as certain protocols and formalities in customs, dress, or social play and work) ceased to exist in front of my own noses almost without realizing it, and it took only the passing of the years.
may be more time running the Democrats. One of the conditions will be, without doubt, the growth of a generation of politicians a bit less ambitious in pesos and personal power, and more aware of the role to play in the field of their own professional performance. Understanding the political profession as valuable not only to that level ($ + power).
Remember the catch phrase "throw them all out" in the crisis of 2001 proved to be attractive to display the foreign press, the way the graffiti of the French May '68? What if the reformulated in a more emphatic and forceful slogan to sponsor something like "generational change by politicians and their vices, their hobbies and their thirst for personal power?
